Very recently, a friend of mine from Bible class forwarded me a video about a certain “thought leader” whom she thinks could be The Anti-Christ in today’s world. Here’s the video:
While it’s understandable that a devout Catholic would think this man to be The Anti-Christ because of the anti-Christian ideologies that he promotes (e.g. such as achieving divinity by the creation of man through Artificial Intelligence [AI]–thereby countering God), I’d say he’s not. Here’s the reply I sent to my friend about what I think about the video and about The Anti-Christ:
“Hello. I’ve seen the video, but I do not think Yuval is the Anti-Christ. To me, he’s more of like is a modern-day pagan (there’s already a lot of people like him actually in the world). He may not explicitly worship false gods (although he does practice a form of Hindu meditation), but he “worships” false ideologies that run his life and way of thinking (we need to pray for the salvation of people like him).
According to Fr. Ripperger, the Anti-Christ will be someone from us– Christians. Even performing many miracles (Bro. Ed talked about this also 2 days ago). And I think this makes total sense because the best way for the enemy to spread its error in the world is by using us–the people of God–to carry out its agenda. “A wolf in sheep’s clothing,” as they say; someone who is a great deceiver, much like Satan himself who looked good on the outside–professing all his good intentions–but then desperately wanting the fall of man.
And as much as we have to keep watch of the Anti-Christ, we also, well, shouldn’t
. What I mean by that is we shouldn’t keep our eyes on the enemy but rather on God and in professing the Gospel–in professing His Truth and Love found in the Eucharist (as many people don’t know this still). Just as long as we continuously seek God first, grow in a relationship with Him as faithful Catholics, and especially grow a devotion to Mama Mary, we will not be led astray; we shall not be deceived. She–the Queen of Heaven and Earth–will protect us from the enemy herself. Hence, we can live in God’s joy, peace, and power, and not in fear and worry despite the troubles that are happening in the world.
What’s also more important is that we keep watch of ourselves, fix our gaze on Christ, follow His commands, and fulfill His will in our lives, lest we become anti-Christ ourselves.”
I honestly do not give much thought about the Anti-Christ (and even in the end times) and neither should you. It’s a waste of time. There’s only one thing necessary in this life and in the next: GOD, and to worship Him in the fullness of the Catholic Faith, to love Him as He ought to be loved, to live as we ought to live according to our State in Life, and to encourage as many people as we could to do the same. And if we do that, if we live a life that’s pleasing to Him and in accordance to His will, it won’t matter if the world ends today, because we’ll then be prepared to meet our Maker. And instead of worrying, we’d look forward in joy and excitement to see Him face to face and to hear these words from His mouth, “Well done good and faithful servant.” Mt 25:23
