I’ve Been Here The Whole Time! (Part I)

**Woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning but I thank God for the grace to go as planned today–in other words, to show up! If I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have written this blog post as the events of today would have not transpired in the first place! For some reason quite unclear to me (but I think I know lol ๐Ÿ˜…), I’ve been having such a great difficulty publishing anything for a very long time now. And today is probably the first time things felt…easier…thank God! I had so much fun writing this…as I laughed and shook my head recalling the things that happened earlier…Haha. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I’m making this a 3-part series, of course connecting it to the Faith in the end, as my blog is a Catholic blog after all…๐Ÿ˜… I hope and pray this produces an avalanche of results–from the things I’ve already drafted to topics I still want to write about. So…please do me a favor and–as what the late Pope Francis would always say–“pray for me!” ๐Ÿ˜Š Here’s part 1!

I. Forgetful Lucy, Cracked her head like Gary Busey (Sandler, 2004)

Earlier today, while I was on my way to the 6:30am Saturday Mass, a terrifying thought entered my mind… ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

It’s a thought so dreadful that every driver would consider it…

A nightmare…

What is it? You ask…

It had crossed my mind that I had forgotten…

To bring something…

Of utmost importance…

Something…

of great value…

The kind of thing that Smeagol would jump over the cliff for…

It was…

…my wallet!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ (yes, it’s still of great value even if only coins are mostly there!๐Ÿ˜…)

My gosh…of all the things I could forget, why did I have to forget my wallet? Should I go back? But I’m already running late for the Mass. So just go back later after Mass? Wait, do I actually need to use my wallet in all my morning activities? ๐Ÿ˜‚ What are they again? Mass, morning cardio at Lakewood, meeting with AA… Do I really need my wallet in all those things? ๐Ÿ˜‚ I have my phone anyway. I’ll just pray to my Guardian Angel to keep me safe from danger while driving so I won’t have the need to show out my driver’s license today in any way. ๐Ÿ˜… Oh well…I’ll just think about this after Mass.

Once the Mass had finished, I went to do quick visit to the Adoration Chapel and then went straight to the car. While driving, I was still wrestling with my head…

Do I go back? Ughh…it’s such a waste…

Finally, I have to make a decision… The route going to our home and to Lakewood–my next destination–is the same until the intersection.

I’ve now reached a fork on the road…

Should I turn left and go back to the house to get my wallet, or should I turn right and go straight to Lakewood?

Okay…I don’t think the traffic is pretty bad going back home. Who am I kidding? I need my wallet. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Haay, Lucci, you’re so lazy. Just offer it up. ๐Ÿ˜‚

So I headed back home…

As I entered our home, my mom, who was there in the kitchen, was quite surprised to see me walk through the front door and return so quickly…

“Nag-simba ‘ko, pero nakalimutan ko yung wallet ko kaya bumalik ako.” (I went to Mass but I forgot my wallet that’s why I went back.) I said.

“Ano ba yan…sa lahat ng makakalimutan mo yung wallet mo pa…buti hindi ka na-ano sa kalye at kinailangan mo ng lisenysa.” (What? Of all the things you could forget to bring, you forgot your wallet. Good thing nothing happened to you on the road which required the need to show your driver’s license.) She said.

I silently replied, “That’s exactly what I thought!” ๐Ÿ˜‚

I then went straight to my room upstairs to get my wallet that I just usually place on my table…

Wait a minute…it’s not here!

I checked the vanity table…

My other bag…

And my closet…

It wasn’t there too!

Oh nooo….where could it be?!

Perplexed…

It finally hit me…๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Ohhh my goooshh…

Wait a minute...

Don’t tell me…

Now I think I remember where I may have put it…

My gooodnnesss…could it really be there?

We’re about to find out…

So I went downstairs…

Walked through the front door…

Opened the gate…

Then I pulled this horizontal latch…

Attached to this silver-gray, 4 wheeled motor vehicle designed for transporting people ๐Ÿ˜……

Sat on its cushiony seat…

As my hand reached for the glove box…

Could it be that simple?

I was having a Benjamin Franklin Gates moment as he turns the key to unlock the National Treasure… ๐Ÿ˜‚

Moment of truth…

Voilร !!! My wallet!!! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿคฃ

It’s been there with me the whole time!!! Ugghhh!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Senior moment…๐Ÿคฃ

But, wait…how did it get there again? ๐Ÿค” Ahh…

I remember now…

Whenever I would go for a jog/walk in the park (which I did yesterday), I would always place my valuables in the glove box before stepping out of the car. Now, if you’re wondering why I do that, here’s my logic there:

If someone breaks in the car and sees my bag, he’ll just get my bag and just rush away (presumably)…so my valuables are still safe! ๐Ÿ˜‚ makes sense, right?! ๐Ÿ˜‚

It’s like my wallet was telling me, “What’s wrong with you?! I’ve been here the whole time! Why did you leave me here in the first place?!” ๐Ÿ˜‚
